SUMMARY:

The article presents the results of a survey of the effectiveness of judicial training with regard to the degree of preparation to perform the work of a judge’s assessor. The survey held in 2019 in the Research and Analysis Department of the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution provided an assessment, inter alia, of: which of the competencies trained at the National School are most useful in the work of judge’s assessors; and how the judge’s assessors themselves and the heads of the departments where they work assess the degree of their preparation in that respect. The survey identified the areas of preliminary training that require modernisation.
