The main aim of this publication is to make a stand in a subject about of validity their being or in opposite its lack. In the time of a making this arrangements author presents history selected police units, takes a trial of define term ,,case qualified to police’s X Files attribution”, also about classification this types of cases because of various dividing parameters, concerns to methods using by them, it mentions about issue of a collecting evidence’s material and above all exposes question of a hybrid portrait unknown homicide perpetrator. In the end author formulates conclusions de lege ferenda directed to optimize investigative potential residuary in a police’s teams dedicated to undetected crimes cases.
